Making contact

Taking the step to contact a counsellor can seem very daunting, as it often comes at a time when you may be feeling alone or stuck with a range of uncomfortable thoughts, feelings and sensations. I feel that it is very important, if you are thinking of coming for counselling, that you are able to talk to me, so that you can assess how you feel about working with me.

If you contact me, I will offer an initial meeting so that we can find out something about each other. I will explain about confidentiality, fees, my policy in case a session gets cancelled and try to answer any questions you might have for me. This is a time to decide if I am the right person to support you and if you are able to commit to the work.

I suggest an initial commitment to six sessions with a review at the end, at which point we would discuss your needs and how best to meet them. Sessions last 60 minutes and are on a regular time and day of the week which we will agree at the start of our work.

I charge a fee of £30 per hour-long session.
