Who I work with
I work with adults and older teenagers aged 16 plus who are looking for support with a range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
I often work with people who feel they have lost their sense of identity, struggle with self-worth, or feel stuck in patterns that are difficult to change. This might show up as overthinking, self-doubt, people-pleasing, or difficulties in relationships.
Alongside this, I support clients with a wide range of experiences, including anxiety, low mood, trauma, life transitions, and the emotional impact of health-related challenges.
You don’t need to have a clear reason for seeking counselling—sometimes it is simply a sense that something doesn’t feel right, or a wish to understand yourself better.
How I work
I work in a collaborative and flexible way, shaping our sessions around you and what feels most helpful.
Some people want space to talk and reflect, while others find it useful to explore things in different creative ways. We can draw on a range of approaches, depending on what supports you best, and adjust as we go.
I won’t direct or prescribe, but will work alongside you—supporting you to make sense of your experiences and find ways forward that feel right for you. At times, I may gently challenge you when it feels helpful, inviting you to notice patterns or consider new perspectives.
We can focus on the past, the present, or both. Our work will be guided by what feels most important to you, and will move at a pace that feels manageable and supportive.
What happens in the First Session?
In the first session, we go through our contract and assessment, finding out what you want and need from counselling. We will begin to explore your life experiences and goals for the future. We will always go at a pace that suits you.
Appointments
If you cannot attend a session, please let me know as soon as possible. Our cancellation policy is that no charge is made if you cancel within 48 hours or more. If you cancel less than 48 hours in advance or do not attend the session, full payment will be expected. There might be times when the counsellor will be away, these dates will be given with as much notice as possible, with a reminder 2 weeks prior to the session.
Late payments or repeat cancellations will mean that we would need to discuss the reasons you are finding it difficult to attend sessions, which then might lead to further cancellations of all sessions.
